Working to End Systemic Racism: The School of Leadership Studies’ Responsibility

In the face of ongoing racism in Canada and its institutions, including Universities, the School of Leadership Studies (SoLS) stands in solidarity with #BlackLivesMatter and other movements to end racism against Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (BIPOC).

SoLS’ Responsibility

The School of Leadership Studies has an essential role to play in guiding and influencing the competencies, including knowledge, skills, and attitudes, for how people lead across the country and around the world. This is both an honour and a shared responsibility. Because systemic racism is embedded in and held in place across systems, the undersigned faculty and staff in SoLS strengthen our resolve to end racism not only within organizations and communities but also by addressing structural oppressions through praxis.

We are working alongside the entire institution to be anti-racist.
