Royal Roads begins search for next president
Royal Roads University’s Board of Governors has begun a search for the university’s next president and vice-chancellor to succeed Allan Cahoon, who returns to teaching in January 2019 after more than a decade in the university’s top job.
The successful candidate will be named in spring 2018 and take up responsibilities in January 2019.
“Over the last 10 years, Dr. Cahoon has been a tireless advocate for students, a strong ambassador for the university, a champion for diversity and the architect of a regenerative workplace culture at Royal Roads,” says Royal Roads University Chancellor Kathleen Birney. “We celebrate his many accomplishments and we will continue to advance his vision for the university while we search for his successor over the next year.”
The university is inviting ideas about qualities the next president will need to lead the institution into the next decade. A town hall event for staff and faculty is scheduled for Dec. 1 and members of the community are invited to share ideas through a questionnaire or by confidential email.
